Healthy Lifestyle Tip: Exercise = less stress

Physical activity can take your mind off of your problems by redirecting your thoughts to the activity at hand. Any form of physical activity can help you unwind and can become an important part of your approach to easing stress. The same regular exercise routine that helps prevent disease and builds muscle can also help you better manage stress.

How does exercise reduce stress?

It pumps up your endorphins. Physical activity helps to bump up the production of your brain’s feel-good neurotransmitters, called endorphins. Although this function is often referred to as a runner’s high, other activity can also contribute to this same feeling.

It’s meditation in movement. After exercising you may find that you’ve forgotten the day’s dilemmas and irritations because you are concentrated only on your body’s movements. As you begin to regularly shed your daily tensions through movement and physical activity, you may find that this focus on a single task, and the resulting energy and optimism, can help you remain calm and clear in everything that you do.

It improves your mood. Regular exercise can increase self-confidence and lower the symptoms associated with mild depression and anxiety. This can ease your stress levels and give you a sense of command over your body and your life.

It has social benefits. Most often physical activity involves others and gives you a double dose of stress-relief with the combined benefits of exercise and fun with friends.

Source: BodyWorks.com
And my own encouragement to each of you, please make it a habit to work 30 minutes of ACTIVITY into your daily calendar, even it’s nothing more than a walk around the block, throwing a few baskets at the hoop with your kids (or without), etc … any type of physical activity — and done DAILY will make your life better and I’ve found it to bring more success to my business, as well! Formal / gym / equipment exercise is fantastic but if you aren’t a member of a gym or don’t have the equipment at home … no sweat <<grin>>, just pick up your feet and WALK!

I thought it was going to be a book about ‘collecting’ the no’s and it is …. but is also SO MUCH more!

What I learned this morning in my 6AM reading from the book will best be described in a diagram — Most people think of success and failure like this,

Success <= <= <= Me => => => Failure

when in reality it is like this,

Me => => => Failure => => => Success

Quite possibly you don’t quite get it all from the example I’ve given …. but you will — when you read the book and your life will NEVER be the same! I know mine won’t be — I know that this AM while reading was a TURNING POINT in my life and in my future … I want it to be a turning point in your life, too!

Go buy the book today = Go For No

If you want to see a REAL CHANGE in your life; purchase the book, read the book and apply!

When I first began to work from home, one of my first thoughts was how much easier it would be to prepare home-cooked meals for my family. I was wrong.

My discovery was that proper planning plays as much of a role for home-based moms (and dads) as it does for those who work takes them outside of the home.

When I worked away from home, the crock pot was used regularly and now, even though my office is literally steps away from my kitchen, I find myself still using the crock pot regularly.

I actually have three crock pots … in a variety of sizes, with the chosen one being based on the recipe for the day.

Home Based Business Tip - purchase several crock pots and be sure each has a removable pan that is dishwasher safe, which means it can also go counter to refrigerator when needed — with the cords being left on the counter, along with the heating element.

The following recipe is so easy, it seems almost fraudulent to present it here as something original.
But it’s just too good to keep secret. If you love pulled pork or brisket that’s been slow-cooked
by a genuine barbecue joint, you’ll be amazed at how close you can get with a slow cooker. The final
flavor will be determined largely by the brand of barbecue sauce you select, so use a fresh bottle
and consider one that has a touch of smoke flavor.

RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
1 3- to 4-pound pork roast, beef rump roast or beef brisket
Salt and pepper to taste
2 medium onions, sliced
1 16-ounce jar barbecue sauce (in the flavor of your choice, we prefer brown sugar and honey)
Hamburger Buns or Soft rolls

Directions:

1. Carefully trim the meat of visible fat and season it with salt and pepper. Place the onions
in the bottom of the crock, then lay the meat on top of them. (You may have to cut the brisket in half
and stack the pieces.)

2. Pour about a half cup of the barbecue sauce over the meat and flip it around to coat it. Cover and
let it cook for 9 to 10 hours on low.

3. Carefully remove the cooked meat from the crock and pour out the fat and juices, retaining the onions.
For the pork: Using two forks, shred the meat into stringy chunks, discarding any fat.

4. Put the meat back in the crock, mix in the remaining barbecue sauce, and let it cook another half hour
or so. (You could eat it now, but it’s better if it soaks awhile.)

5. For the beef: Slice the brisket across the grain and place it on a platter, discarding any fat. Cover
it with sauce and let it sit for 10 minutes or so if you can bear it! Serve on soft rolls, onions on the
side.

TIP FOR CHOPPED - We actually prefer the chopped over the sliced. Take slices and pour a bit of extra sauces and chop, chop, chop with a knife (on a cutting board).

Makes 8 to 10 servings sliced.
Makes 15 to 20 servings chopped.

Serve with potato salad and baked beans or for a quick meal, serve with potato chips. Consider adding sliced cheese and pickels and mustard, if desired.

The last quarter of the 2008 year is HERE!

Can you believe it?

Well, looking back on your goals that you hopefully set just prior to the start of 2008 …. how are you doing?

I started setting 90 day goals back a few years ago … in addition to my 1 year, 2 year and 5 year goals … it sure has helped me to see where I need to improve.

Less than 90 days left in 2008 … then we will be ringing in a NEW YEAR again -

WOW … time does travel fast!

So, if you haven’t read over your goals for 2008, now would be the time.

If you never set goals for 2008, why not change that today?

90 days from today .. where do you want to be in the following areas?

- Health
- Career / Business
- Wealth
- Spiritual
- Fun / Recreation
- Social / Cultural
- Family

Your areas might be different … these are just some ideas to get you thinking.
